× The hills are alive with the sound of music! Camrose Composite Playhouse presents one of the most beloved musicals of all time. The Sound of Music is filled with songs that we know and love such as “My Favourite Things,” The Lonely Goatherd,” “Sixteen Going On Seventeen,” and “Do-Re-Me.” The final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein, The Sound of Music, has become a play cherished around the world. Based on the true story of the Von Trapp Family Singers, this musical captures a tale of growth and hope amidst the Nazi occupation of Austria during the Anschluss. The Sound of Music tells the tale of young postulant Maria Rainer, whose free spirit has trouble fitting into Nonnberg Abbey. Commissioned by the Mother Abbess to serve as the governess for seven motherless children, Maria transforms the Von Trapp family home from a place devoid of happiness to one filled with joy, laughter, and music.
