REQUIEM FOR THE LIVING by Dan Forrest

University of Alberta – The Augustana Choirs together with Chorale Saint-Jean, Soloists, and the Requiem Orchestra, John Wiebe conductor, present Requiem for the Living, Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at 8:00 pm, Cargill Theater, Jeanne and Peter Lougheed Performing Arts Centre, Camrose. All three of our University of Alberta Augustana Choirs, together with Chorale Saint-Jean (Laurier Fagnan conductor), members of Camrose Camerata (Joy-Anne Murphy conductor) join their 180 voices with the Requiem Orchestra to perform the magnificent Requiem for the Living by Dan Forrest, a contemporary work for choir and full orchestra. This new work has been performed around the world to rave reviews and recognized for its grandeur and timeless beauty. Originally known as a “mass for the dead”, the Requiem has over the past centuries become known as a work that provides hope and comfort to the living. This work is filled with moments of exquisite beauty and impassioned power, running the full gamut of emotions. The Augustana Choir and Chorale Saint-Jean will also perform selections from amongst their favourites. This is going to be one concert you will not want to miss this year.
