The Carolines General Admission

Second show added! The first performance has sold out, so we added a second performance, set for Sunday, Oct. 3 at 7:30 p.m.

The Carolines are led by three Alberta singers, whose repertoire leaves no doubt about their love of Old-Time Classic-Country music.

Their humour is infectious, and when they commence to singing, you’ll be tapping your toes and singing along to all the old familiar tunes by Patsy Cline, Buck Owens, Trio, the Dixie Chicks and more. With clever arrangements and spine-tingling harmonies, they breathe new life into the old songs, and put an authentic old-time spin on the contemporary tunes. In the band’s seven years together they have become the sweethearts of many Alberta festivals, music venues, folk clubs and house concerts.

Their six-piece band band, featuring the talents of Chris Tabbert on electric guitar, Paul Bergeron on upright bass and Matt Grier on the drums, supplies the driving rhythm and scorching guitar solos that puts the finishing touches on a great show. Their harmonies are complex but come effortlessly with precision and originality. Theirs is the kind of comfortable collaboration that comes from a wealth of performance experience and musical knowledge, not to mention a decade of singing together.

Chloe Albert took her diploma in vocal performance from Grant MacEwan, and launched her debut CD in 2008. Dedicated State won her an Emerging Artist of the Year award at the Canadian Folk Music Awards. Her second release in 2013 Dream Catcher, garnered her a Juno nomination, a Western Music Awards nomination and three Edmonton Music awards.

Lesley Pelletier went to Victoria Performing Arts School and has a degree in Music Therapy from Capilano College in Vancouver. She sang in Kokopelli Choir, and performed with her own dueling piano show for many years. She released her album of original songs in 2013.

Katie Perman has her music degree in performance from Grant MacEwan University, and co-owns The Grand Dueling Piano Show. She performs regularly at Aussie Rules Piano Bar in Calgary, Halleys Club at WEM, and at The Rose and Crown. She released her debut album of original songs in 2009 and was selected for breakout artist of the year for Now Radio that same year.
