Heartstrings and Honky Tonks show
CFCW is celebrating a milestone decades in the making.
The radio station 840 CFCW is commemorating 70 years of being on the air and in the homes, and vehicles of Albertans, with a special tour across Alberta. Called Heartstrings and Honky Tonks, this tour will take in four Alberta communities, including Camrose, with each performance being broadcast on its radio waves and each night showcasing a special selection of country artists.
Here is what is in store for country fans: hosted by CFCW’s Jackie Rae, Heartstrings and Honky Tonks will be presented by platinum-selling writers, Dan Davidson and Clayton Bellamy, during a special night of live music and discussion around the impetus behind their hits. In Nashville they call it a “songwriter’s round.” It’s also known as a “guitar pull” where singer-songwriters play the music they’ve written for themselves or other performers and then discuss the music in between.
Dan and Clayton are long-time friends and they’re going to take the audience on a special journey singing the songs they’ve written, performing them in a way they originally were intended, plus singing songs that hold a special place in their hearts.
Heartstrings and Honky Tonks is a celebration of country music and the artists who brought their songs into the world. Accompanying Dan and Clayton during this intimate performance in Camrose will include CFCW favourites Duane Steel and Nice Horse (who has performed in Camrose before). Tracy Millar will make a special guest appearance!
Join us Wednesday, May 1 for an amazing night of country, conversation, and a group of amazing artists on stage.
